Carrier trunk at capacity
Outbound calls fail because your SIP trunk has hit the carrier's concurrent channel limit.
Symptoms
- •Outbound calls return 503 or 486 errors
- •Dialer throughput plateaus regardless of agent availability
- •Asterisk log shows `All circuits busy now` or similar
Common causes
- •Agent + channel count exceeds purchased trunk capacity
- •Carrier rate-limited your trunk after unusual traffic
- •Registration broken, only a subset of channels available
- •Second facility or dev environment stealing the trunk
How to fix it
- 1Check `sip show peers`, the peer status will show current channels used
- 2Compare to carrier-purchased capacity; contact carrier to increase if at limit
- 3Verify `qualify=yes` and that registration is current (`sip show registry`)
- 4Ensure only one system is registering against each trunk credential
