Carrier trunk at capacity

Outbound calls fail because your SIP trunk has hit the carrier's concurrent channel limit.

Symptoms

  • Outbound calls return 503 or 486 errors
  • Dialer throughput plateaus regardless of agent availability
  • Asterisk log shows `All circuits busy now` or similar

Common causes

  • Agent + channel count exceeds purchased trunk capacity
  • Carrier rate-limited your trunk after unusual traffic
  • Registration broken, only a subset of channels available
  • Second facility or dev environment stealing the trunk

How to fix it

    Check `sip show peers`, the peer status will show current channels used
  2. 2
    Compare to carrier-purchased capacity; contact carrier to increase if at limit
  3. 3
    Verify `qualify=yes` and that registration is current (`sip show registry`)

    Ensure only one system is registering against each trunk credential
